Follow the instructions in INSTALL carefully.

Make sure you download hybrid-STABLE and not hybrid-CURRENT. You can obtain the source at ircd-hybrid.org/snapshot/ .
You want the ircd-hybrid-7.0-STABLE-[date].tgz file.
